Permanent MakeUp Consultation (30 minutes) in 2350 Prince Ave: Your First Step to Effortless Beauty

What a Permanent Makeup Consultation Covers

A Permanent Makeup Consultation (30 minutes) covers your skin type, your health history, your color match, and a mapped shape drawn on your face before any pigment is used. You leave knowing which technique fits you, how long the appointment runs, and what healing looks like week by week. Nothing gets tattooed that day, so there's no pressure to decide on the spot.

Thirty minutes sounds short. It isn't, not when it's used well.

We start with your face, not a brochure. Your bone structure, how your brows already grow, whether one side sits higher than the other. Almost everyone is a little uneven, and we see this every single week. Then we talk about what you want to wake up looking like. Some folks want a soft shadow they can still fill in. Others want done.

Here's the order we work in:

🖌️Health and history. Medications, skin conditions, past tattoo work, recent fillers or peels. Some of these push the appointment out a few weeks.

🖌️Skin read. Oily, dry, mature, thin, scarred. Oily skin blurs crisp hair strokes, so it steers the technique choice more than anything else.

🖌️Technique match. Microblading, Nano Brows, Ombré, Microshading, Combination Brows, Lip Blush, or liner. We tell you which one your skin will hold.

🖌️Color match. We look at your undertone in natural light, not under a ring light. Warm skin and cool skin heal pigment very differently.

🖌️Mapping. We draw the shape on you with pencil and thread so you see it on your own face before you ever commit.

You'll also get the honest timeline. Two hours for Nano Brows. Two and a half for Ombré or Lip Blush. A Perfecting Session at six to eight weeks, because pigment settles unevenly the first time and that's normal, not a mistake.

And if you look in the mirror at the mapped shape and say no? Good. That's the whole point of doing it now instead of later.

Who Should Book This Consultation

Most people who sit down with us fall into one of a few groups. Some have thin brows from years of tweezing. Some have alopecia, or hair loss from chemo. Others are tired of redrawing their liner every morning before an early shift at the hospital.

And a lot of folks just want their face back. That's the honest reason we hear most.

🫧You've had brows or liner done somewhere else and the color has faded warm, gray, or patchy

🫧You have oily skin and you've been told crisp hair strokes won't hold on you

🫧You're a UGA student or grad school parent who has about four minutes for makeup

🫧You've got a scar, stretch marks, or an areola you'd like softened after surgery

🫧You want lips with color but you've been scared off by photos you saw online

Now the other side. There are people we'll ask to wait, and we say so during the consultation rather than after you've paid for the appointment. If you're pregnant or nursing, we wait. If you've had a chemical peel, dermaplaning, or laser work on the area in the last few weeks, we wait. Active acne, a cold sore flaring on the lip, uncontrolled diabetes, blood thinners without your doctor's okay, recent Accutane use - all reasons to hold off. Keloid scarring is another one. So is being in a rough stretch emotionally,. This shouldn't be a decision you make on a hard week.

Some people come in and leave without booking anything. That's a good outcome too. We'd rather tell you your brows already sit well and you just need a brow tint than talk you into pigment you didn't need. Nine times out of ten, when someone hesitates in that chair, their gut is telling them something worth listening to.

Not sure which group you're in? That's exactly what the thirty minutes is for, and it's free for new clients.

When You Don't Need a Fresh Consultation

Here's the part most places won't tell you. Sometimes you don't need to sit down with us for thirty minutes at all.

If you're already one of our permanent makeup clients and you're coming back for a Perfecting Session at six to eight weeks, that's already built into your care. We map the healed result the day you walk in. Booking a separate consultation for it just adds a trip across town for nothing.

Same story with a Color Refresh. If we did your brows twelve or eighteen months ago and the shape still suits your face, we pick up where we left off. Your notes, your pigment formula, your healed photos, they're all in your file.

⚡You're within two weeks of a scheduled Perfecting Session with us.

⚡You're returning for a Color Refresh and nothing about your skin, health, or medications has changed.

⚡You're actively on a blood thinner, Accutane, or fresh from a chemical peel. Wait until you're cleared, then talk to us.

⚡You're pregnant or nursing. We'd rather you come see us after.

⚡You're still deciding between brows, liner, or lip blush and haven't looked at any healed photos yet. Look first. You'll get more out of the thirty minutes.

That last one surprises people. But we've watched clients walk in with no reference at all, and the whole session turns into browsing instead of planning. Bring two or three saved photos and the conversation gets real fast.

There's also the honest gray area. Some folks want permanent makeup and what they need first is skin that's calm and healthy. Dry, flaky, congested skin holds pigment unevenly. A Royalty Dermaplaning Facial a few weeks ahead can do more for your healed result than any consultation will.

We'd rather send you home and see you in a month than take a deposit for work your skin isn't ready for. That's not being difficult. That's how you get color that still looks right two years from now.

Preparing for Your Consultation Visit

Thirty minutes goes fast. So a little prep on your end turns the visit from a nice conversation into an actual plan with a date on the calendar.

Come with your face the way it usually looks. Not bare, not done up for a wedding. We want to see how you normally wear your brows or liner, because that tells us more than any photo ever will.

Bring two or three photos you love and one you hate. The hate pile is more useful. It tells us what shape or color to steer away from.

💄Write down your medications and supplements. Blood thinners, retinoids, fish oil, accutane history. All of it matters for healing and timing.

💄Skip caffeine and alcohol the morning of if you can. It won't ruin anything at a consultation, but it sets the habit for your actual appointment.

💄Hold off on brow waxing or tinting for about a week beforehand so we're reading your natural shape, not a temporary one.

💄Note any recent tox or filler, and when. It changes how we map symmetry.

💄Bring your calendar. Downtime is real, and we'd rather book around your life than force you into a bad week.

If you've got old permanent makeup that's faded gray or gone warm, come anyway. We see this every single week. Bring whatever paperwork you have from the original artist, pigment info especially, because correction work depends on knowing what's already sitting in the skin.

One more thing. Athens summers are humid and long, and folks near campus tend to sweat through August. If you're an outdoor runner or you swim, tell us. That shifts which technique holds best on you - powder tends to wear differently than crisp hair strokes on oily, active skin.

And if you're not sure you're ready to commit to anything? Say that out loud when you walk in. It's a consultation, not a contract.

How Pricing and Sessions Typically Work

Let's talk money and time, because most people are too polite to ask.

Permanent makeup in this industry isn't priced by the hour. It's priced by the procedure. Brows, eyeliner, and lip work each sit in their own range, and lips almost always cost more than brows because they take longer and need more pigment. A color correction on old work costs more than fresh work, every time. That surprises folks, they assume fixing is cheaper than starting.

Here's what moves the number up or down:

✨The area being treated. A lash line enhancement is a small strip of skin. Full lip color is a whole different amount of chair time.

✨Technique. Hand-tool hair strokes, machine strokes, and powder shading each take different amounts of time to lay in properly.

✨Your starting point. Faded old pigment, heavy natural pigmentation in the lips, or scar tissue all add work.

✨Whether the perfecting session is bundled. Some pricing includes the 6 to 8 week touch-up. Some doesn't. Ask outright.

That last one is the big one. Almost nobody's skin holds perfect color from a single pass. The follow-up visit isn't an upsell, it's part of how the work gets finished.

Time-wise, plan generously. Brow procedures generally run around two hours. Lip work and detailed liner run longer. The numbing needs time to settle, and rushing pigment placement is how you get results nobody's happy with.

Then there's the long game. Pigment fades. Most people come back for a color refresh somewhere in the 12 to 24 month window, depending on their skin and sun exposure. So when you're comparing what something costs, think in years, not in one appointment. We'd rather you understand that at the thirty-minute consultation than three weeks after your brows are done.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a permanent makeup consultation take?

A consultation runs about thirty minutes, and it covers more than most people expect. We look at your skin, talk through your health history, and map a shape right on your face with pencil and thread. Nothing gets tattooed that day. You leave knowing which technique fits you and how healing works, so there's no pressure to decide on the spot.

Do I need to prepare anything before my consultation at 2350 Prince Ave?

Bring two or three saved photos of brows, liner, or lips you like. Clients who walk in without any reference often spend the whole session browsing instead of planning. It also helps to think through recent medications, skin treatments, or health changes beforehand, since those details shape which technique we recommend for you.

Will I need a consultation if I'm just coming back for a Perfecting Session?

No, if you're within two weeks of a scheduled Perfecting Session with us, that follow-up is already built into your care. We map your healed result the day you walk in for it. Booking a separate consultation just adds an extra trip across Athens for nothing, so we skip that step for returning clients.

Can oily or acne-prone skin get permanent makeup in Athens's humid climate?

Oily skin can absolutely still get permanent makeup, but it changes which technique holds best. Oily skin blurs crisp hair strokes, so we often steer those clients toward Ombré or Microshading instead of Microblading. Athens summers add humidity on top of that, which is exactly why we check your skin type carefully during the consultation before recommending anything.

Who should wait before booking a permanent makeup session?

You should wait if you're pregnant, nursing, or recovering from a chemical peel, dermaplaning, or laser treatment done in the last few weeks. Active acne, cold sores, uncontrolled diabetes, blood thinners without doctor approval, and recent Accutane use are also reasons to pause. We'll tell you this during the consultation itself, not after you've already paid for an appointment.

What if I decide not to go through with permanent makeup after the consultation?

That's a completely fine outcome, and it happens more than people think. If you look at the mapped shape on your face and decide it's not for you, that's the whole point of doing the consultation first. Some clients even leave learning they just need a brow tint instead of pigment work at all.
